Robert Whitehead, Jr., of Pasquotank County, was recently appointed to a directorship on the Albemarle EMC Board of Directors.
Whitehead fills the Pasquotank County seat of retired director L.A. Harris, Jr.
“The Albemarle EMC board decided to proceed with filling that directorship by appointment, instead of waiting until 2023 when the seat will be up for election,” said Albemarle EMC President John Spence. “We are fortunate to have someone with Robbie’s capability willing to serve the membership, and we are pleased to welcome him to the board.”
Whitehead has been an Albemarle EMC member since 1996. He has served on the co-op’s nominating committee as well as the Albemarle Community Trust.
Whitehead lives in the Newland area and is employed by Parkway Ag. He is also the owner/operator of R&S Farm Repair, is married and has one daughter.
“I wanted to serve on the Albemarle EMC Board of Directors to help our community grow,” Whitehead said. “For me, it was a natural progression from serving on the nominating committee, then the ACT Board and now the Albemarle EMC Board of Directors.”
